Application domain metal casting
Use case of the InGrid portal for finding a similar data set in order to speed up the process of Finite Element modeling and simulation. The search engine within the knowledge-based component enables re-use by allowing the search for name or class of the casting material. Data to be re-used comprises material data and CASTS control files. Beyond re-use, information from already performed simulation runs may provide further insights into the casting process.
Workflow
The list of search results contains graphical workflow descriptions replacing the script-based specification of simulation runs. Graphical editors support changing and deploying of these workflows being part of simulation runs.
Casts
Use case of the InGrid portal for executing a simulation run by CASTS. Starting with the secure login to the portal the process continues with the upload of the simulation's input files. After termination of the simulation run (not in real time in this video) the simulation results (in this simplified case a convergence plot) are downloaded and visualized.
