SuGI Cluster in the German Grid Initiative

Next to the key tasks - disseminating grid technologies to small and medium sized computing centres - SuGI aim at fostering specific user groups and offering grid resources to them. Especially chemistry and life-science communities will be supported by SuGI, because they are not yet supported by any other community in the German Grid Initiative.

To fulfil this purpose, the SuGI partners University of Kaiserslautern, University of Kassel and University of Cologne each run a compute cluster provided with a grid frontend (currently only under Globus Toolkit 4), which might be used by accredited D-Grid users (D-Grid-VO LifeScience) to submit batch jobs to the respective cluster.
